Welcome!!!

Carolyn from Warm Alaska came up with the idea of having a siesta's "get together" for those of us attending the Breaking Free taping. We spoke via email and decided a blog might be a good place communicate with each without taking over Beth's blog.

On the right side of the screen is a list of places to stay. Please send me the name and email or phone number of where you are staying. This serves two purposes--1. Those still needing a place to stay may be able to find one here 2. We can choose a central location to have a siesta lunch or meeting. I will not list who is staying where on the list for privacy and safety issues.

If you have a room reserved already and are interested in sharing your room, please send a comment.

Many of us are having to make careful adjustments and sacrifices to financially be able to attend. If you have ideas for cutting costs and making the dollar go a little further, please share those ideas.

Please let us know anything else you would like to see on here or that you would like to know and we will try to find out and post it.

first, THANK YOU for putting up this blog! But I missed out on getting tickets and I need a ticket. Help out Siestas! email Marysnydr@aol.com.
also, the website for the Baptist Seminary Housing is Provhouse.com and the rates are great ($55 a night for 2 twins)

Thank you so much for putting up this blog!!

I will be staying at the Seminary. I'm flying in Monday afternoon. Anyone else flying in that would like to share a taxi??

Cindy, are you bringing the microwave? We will have to load up on microwave means!

I'm still waiting to hear from my BFF if she will be attending with me. If not, I will have an extra ticket.

Traci -- I tried to find an email for you, but no luck. I promise to be your BFF in training for the NO week if you will sell me your extra ticket (that's only if you real BFF can't make it). I'm really great at the whole BFF thing.. .okay, I'm not great, but I try hard and I even wrote a book about girlfriends. It's coming out in the spring....hey, I know what I'll promise to thank you in print and....uh, how about a book?
Okay, not that I'm anyone you'd care to read, but I would love to buy that extra ticket. Will you let me know at MarySnydr@aol.com

Thanks tons -- I jus don't want to miss this...oh, and I'm driving so I can pick you up at the airport and we can ride together to the church.....okay, it's obvious that I'm not above bribery{grin}

Thanks! And even if you can't sell me the ticket, I'll still send you a copy of the book and if I get a ticket, I'll be happy to give you a ride to the church each day. (I'm staying at the Seminary, too)

I would also love to attend the taping but do not have a ticket. I live in NM and am currently doing Beth's "Stepping Up" Bible Study. I have done many of her other studies too but would be blessed to see an actual taping.
my email is
patriciabird@yahoo.com
for anyone that ends up having extra tickets, etc.
Thank you for this blog. What a blessing.

Traci Rocks! I'm so jazzed to be the owner of one ticket. ohh, and we're now down to 4 more tickets. The girls are working!
Thanks tons to Traci! And I'm saying a prayer that every Siesta who desires to be there, will be there -- Lord willing.

Yes, I plan to bring a microwave. It's a small one like would be used in a college dorm, but it will work.

If someone wants to purchase their own to bring before the event, I am sure they will be really cheap around August when stores have their back to school sales. I think last year they were about $20at WalMart which will more than pay for itself when we start eating out.

I just got an email response from the Providence House and thought I would share it so that they don't get bombarded with the same questions:

Each of our rooms has a dorm sized fridge, a hair dryer, a desk and wireless internet access. Unfortunately we do not have the facilities to make coffee at this time but there are several places that have coffee available within easy access of the guest house. Let me know if you have any more questions!

traci -- thanks for sharing the info. I'm going have to scope out that coffee spot....

Do you girls know if the seminary Providence House is making its facilities available to attendees of the taping who have no other association with the seminary? We are just two gals from Oklahoma and California who have tickets and plan to attend. We reserved a hotel, but wouldn't mind saving some money and linking up with other Siestas!

I have a ticket (one ticket) but, as yet, no place to stay. I'm hoping to find out if there is a place within walking distance of the church; I'm guessing that there is not.

My problem is transportation, so maybe we could have a way to exchange information among folks willing to drive and those (like me) willing to defray the expenses of drivers.

Trainedbyhorses,

When I spoke with the seminary, the gentleman told me the rooms were only for alumni of the school, families of attendees of the school AND any member of any Southern Baptist Church.

It couldn't hurt to just call and ask. 1-888-886-7276

Hinesight,
I called the church a few weeks ago and they said there were no hotels etc. within walking distance. I've added a post for transportation. I'm sure we can work it all out some how.
